The Milling Family

About The Milling Family

The Milling family—Duncan and Ali, along with their sons Ollie and James—run a mixed farming enterprise on their property ‘Dhu-Robin’ near Dunedoo, NSW. The 1,215-hectare property features an even balance of 600 hectares of cropping and 600 hectares of improved grazing land, supported by an average annual rainfall of 620mm.

Their operation focuses on the production of prime lambs, high-quality wool, beef, and a range of cereal and oilseed crops. This diversity, paired with a strong connection to the land, allows the family to manage seasonal variability while maintaining long-term sustainability and productivity.

The Millings have a proud 110-year history in the Dunedoo district, with ‘Dhu-Robin’ held in the family for 66 years. Scots ties run deep—Duncan (’89), his father Ken (’51), and brother Jaimie (’84) are all Old Boys, and the tradition continues with Ollie (’26) and James (’30) currently at the College.
