About Boarding Bursary Foundation
Introducing the Boarding Bursary Foundation
We are proud to introduce the Boarding Bursary Foundation — a pivotal sub-committee of the Scots Foundation dedicated to supporting regional students at The Scots College.
The Foundation’s mission is to raise funds that provide essential financial support to boarding students from regional areas. Our aim is to ensure that families who may not otherwise afford it can still access the exceptional education, opportunities, and proud traditions that Scots offers.
Our vision is a vibrant and inclusive school community where boys from the city and the country grow together through diverse, shared experiences — continuing a legacy that has strengthened the fabric of Scots for generations.
Led by the Community, For the Community
The Boarding Bursary Foundation is led by President Mr Rob Tuck (’83) and supported by a dedicated volunteer committee made up of past and present Scots families. Together, they drive fundraising efforts, build awareness, and help ensure Scots remains accessible to outstanding boys from regional backgrounds.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the fundraising goal of the Boarding Bursary Foundation?
Our goal is to raise $1 million, after which the revenue (not the capital) will be used each year to support boarding students in financial need.
How are the funds distributed?
The Foundation will determine the allocation of annual revenue across bursary recipients. The Scots College Admissions Office will assess and approve student eligibility in line with College enrolment criteria.
Are the bursaries means-tested?
Yes. All applicants are required to complete a means test with EdStart, The Scots College’s independent financial assessor.
Who manages the funds?
All funds raised by the Boarding Bursary Foundation are managed and invested by The Scots Foundation, a separate entity with its own charitable status.
