The Denston Family
About The Denston Family
The Denston’s property is run by Stewart and Jenna Denston alongside their sons Artie, Roger and George, operating five mixed farming properties in the Gin Gin district, just north of Trangie and east of Warren on the Macquarie River. Their operations span irrigated cotton, dryland wheat, canola, and beef cattle production, with a strong focus on sustainable land and water use.
Situated in a region known for variable conditions, their ability to adapt cropping rotations and manage livestock strategically is key to the resilience of the business. The Macquarie River supports their irrigation program, while non-arable land is utilised for cattle breeding and backgrounding.
Jenna (née Richardson) brings a legacy of connection to Scots, with her father John Richardson (’70) and brother Ben Richardson (’00) both Old Boys. Artie (’28), Roger (’30) and George (’32) continue that tradition today, proudly representing the next generation of a family deeply rooted in agriculture and the school community.
